A short tour of simulated mains supplies, standby generation, battery storage and load restoration. No real equipment is connected.
Start with a guided scenario
- Open Simulation and choose Single mains failure.
- Confirm Start scenario. The system returns to Overview for a four-second introduction.
- Watch the sequence prove isolation and restore loads from the healthy utility.
- Open Alarms, Events and Trends to inspect the response.

Follow sequence
Turn Follow sequence ON to view the switchboard involved in each action, with a short viewing pause. Manual navigation or opening equipment stops Follow; turn it back on when ready. The preference and selected speed survive Reset Demo.
Read equipment state
In TBC colours, green conductors are energised and dark conductors are dead. Closed breakers show a continuous path; open breakers show a gap. A trip adds a red TRIP label. Select a breaker to inspect measurements and permissives. Manual commands require the appropriate control mode and confirmation.
ISA-101 mode
In Help, switch ISA-101 mode ON for a neutral interface with a light header and the full-colour TBC logo. Dark conductors indicate energised paths; pale conductors indicate dead paths. Labels and breaker gaps remain visible. Faults, warnings, manual control and bad data retain distinct colours. Switch OFF to restore TBC colours. This is an illustrative display palette, not standards certification.
Acknowledge and recover
ACKNOWLEDGE ALL flashes while alarms await acknowledgement. Acknowledgement records awareness; it does not remove a fault, close a breaker or restart equipment. Clear the simulated cause and use the relevant recovery controls. Reset Demo restores the baseline and clears session records.
Ten guided scenarios
Single mains failure; total failure with BESS first; total failure with generator first; BESS black start; automatic load shedding; mains return; generator failure to start; breaker failure; BESS low state of charge; and emergency power off. A protective trip or lockout is an expected result in fault demonstrations.
Load priority and source changes
P3 loads shed first, then P2 and P1. P0 life-safety feeders are never automatically shed in normal power management, although they can lose voltage if no source is available. Reinstatement checks capacity and reverses the shedding order. Source changes are open-transition and include a finite interruption.
Speed and phones
Simulation speed changes process timing; alarm and event timestamps always use the actual clock. Use landscape on a phone. Portrait and hidden tabs pause the simulation automatically; returning releases that automatic pause. An intentional manual pause remains paused.
Model limits
This is a balanced three-phase, quasi-steady-state educational model. It does not calculate fault currents, protection discrimination, earthing, harmonics or electromagnetic transients. Source strategies are illustrative. Every visitor has an independent session.
